Liz Truss favourite to be next PM over Rishi Sunak in huge endorsement from Tory members

LIZ Truss is on track to win the Tory leadership race, with most card carrying conservatives preferring her to rival Rishi Sunak.

A new poll by YouGov shows 62 per cent of Tory members favour the Foreign Secretary to be PM, while only 38 per cent prefer Mr Sunak.

Liz Truss is favourite to be the next PM according to a new poll

The survey is the first to come out since the pair were announced as the final two candidates in the race to be PM yesterday.

Ms Truss is more popular than the ex-Chancellor with every age group, men, women and Leave voters.

Mr Sunak only beats his rival among Remainers.
