Investigation Launched After Video Emerges

The Metropolitan Police, commonly known as Scotland Yard, have issued 24 fines for a Christmas party held at Conservative Party headquarters that violated Covid-19 lockdown regulations. The investigation was launched after a video surfaced showing staff working on Shaun Bailey's London Mayoral campaign at the event.

Metropolitan Police Concludes Investigation

In a statement, the Metropolitan Police confirmed that they have concluded one of the investigations into potential breaches of Covid-19 regulations. The investigation was reopened in July 2023 following the emergence of new evidence related to an event on Matthew Parker Street on December 14, 2020. After assessing the new evidence, the Met has referred 24 individuals for fixed penalty notices (FPNs) to the ACRO Criminal Records Office.

Second Investigation Ongoing

The Metropolitan Police's second investigation is still ongoing and is related to a gathering that took place in Parliament at an event on December 8, 2020. The police have not provided any further details regarding this investigation at this time.
