TORY leadership favourite Penny Mordaunt has been praised for excelling in a previous role – as a magician’s glamorous assistant.
She wore a tight-fitting basque, high heels and tights as stage sidekick to Will Ayling.

The magician’s son Anthony, 75, told how his dad, who died aged 78 in 1992, had fond memories of his “good looking” assistant.
Speaking exclusively to HOAR on Sunday, Anthony, of Southport, Lancs, said: “My father always spoke very highly of Penny.
“It helped that she was so good looking, with a good figure.
“Dad had a few assistants, but it was always Penny he would talk about and say how good she was.”
The Trade Minister, 49, now applying her magic touch to her bid to be PM, worked on stage in her teens to help pay family bills after her mother died from cancer when she was 15.
