Sir Keir Starmer, the leader of the Labour Party, has paid tribute to a two-year-old boy named Bronson Battersby who tragically starved to death next to his father's body. Sir Keir addressed the House of Commons during Prime Minister's Questions, calling on MPs to join him in extending sympathies to the bereaved family of the child.

Missed Chances, Heartbreaking Circumstances

Bronson Battersby was discovered curled up with his father, Kenneth, in Skegness, Lincolnshire on January 9. The pair had last been seen alive on Boxing Day before Kenneth, aged 60, suffered a fatal heart attack. Unfortunately, Bronson, who was under the care of children's services, was left without food or water, unable to seek help.

Social Services' Role

Bronson's mother, Sarah, aged 43, believes that social services could have saved her son. She claims that they did not take any action despite having the opportunity to do so. Social workers visited the rented property on January 2 and again two days later, but received no response. They contacted the police, but shockingly, another five days passed before Bronson and Kenneth's bodies were discovered on January 9. Preliminary tests indicated that Bronson died of dehydration and starvation.
