The extracts from the Imperial War Museums sound archive will boom out from speakers at exactly 3pm on Friday, May 8.

And, 75 years on, his words will highlight a string of events commemorating VE Day.

Workers will enjoy a long weekend as the day has been declared a public Bank Holiday by the PM.
