Small boat migrants face MRI scans to prevent adult impostors sneaking into Britain

New measures have been introduced to tackle illegal migration in the UK, specifically targeting individuals who pose as children in order to gain entry. The use of scientific age assessments, including MRI scans of knees and collar bones, as well as X-rays of teeth, hands, and wrists, will be permitted to determine the true age of migrants. The Home Secretary will now have the authority to decide how long individuals will be detained before deportation, rather than the courts. Failure to provide identification or surrender mobile phones may also impact the validity of migrants' claims.

Public dissatisfaction with immigration policy reaches new low

A recent Ipsos and British Future poll revealed that just one in ten individuals are satisfied with the current immigration policy in the UK, marking the lowest approval rating since Brexit. British Future director Sunder Katwala commented, "The Government's approach to immigration is disappointing everyone. Liberals argue that it is inhumane, while hardliners believe it is failing to deliver on promises."

An additional 2,000 small boat migrants arrived in the UK last week, with 45 individuals being brought ashore at Dover just yesterday.
