MP Peter Bone Found Guilty of Bullying and Sexual Misconduct

Tory MP Peter Bone is facing a six-week suspension from the Commons after parliament's sleaze watchdog found him guilty of bullying and indecent exposure. The Independent Expert Panel released a bombshell report stating that Bone had exposed himself to a member of staff in a Madrid hotel room in 2013. The report detailed multiple acts of bullying and one act of sexual misconduct committed by Bone in 2012 and 2013.

Six-Week Suspension Recommended

The sleaze watchdog recommended a six-week suspension for Bone as a result of the bullying and sexual misconduct complaints. If Parliament approves the suspension, Bone may face a recall petition from his constituents, potentially leading to a by-election in his Wellingborough seat.

Denial of Allegations

Mr. Bone has denied all the allegations brought against him. In a statement, he insisted that the misconduct allegations were false and without foundation. He claimed that the events referred to by the complainant happened over a decade ago and were not raised during their employment.

MP Vows to Continue in Role

Despite the allegations and potential consequences, Bone has vowed to continue in his role as an MP.

Details of the Complaints

The report revealed shocking incidents of violence, shouting, swearing, mocking, belittling, and humiliating behavior by Bone towards the complainant. One incident involved Bone repeatedly physically striking and throwing things at the staff member. Another incident described an unwanted and humiliating ritual imposed by Bone, where the staffer was forced to put his hands in his lap. Additionally, Bone allegedly pressurized the complainant to give him massages in the office.
