THE Duchess of Cambridge today calls for better support for children after worrying findings from her UK-wide survey on the under-fives.
More than half a million people took part in her 5 Big Questions poll.
Results revealed growing isolation and loneliness among parents particularly in deprived areas.
Experts say failure to spot serious problems before the age of six can lead to homelessness, poor mental health, family breakdown and addiction — costing the UK £17billion in later life.
The Duchess of Cambridge plans to use the results to announce ambitious plans to help elevate the importance of early childhood next year.
She will deliver a keynote speech at an online forum today discussing the results.
Kate will say: “Such experiences are often grounded in a difficult childhood.
“But I have also seen how positive protective factors in the early years play a crucial role.
“The early years are not simply about how we raise our children.
“They are about how we raise the next generation of adults.”
