PRINCE Harry and Meghan Markle reportedly asked US President Biden for a ride on Air Force One but were denied.

The couple were turned down in the wake of the late-Queen’s funeral over fears it could cause a “commotion”, it has been claimed.

The Sussexes reportedly asked to fly back to the US on Air Force One after the late-Queen’s funeral

However, sources claimed that they were denied over fears of straining relations with the Palace

Sources told the Daily Mail that staff reached out on behalf of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex to ask the White House if they could fly back to the States with Biden on his presidential plane.

However, reported fears that it would “strain relations” between the US government and the Palace meant that they were rejected.

One source said: “It would have caused such a commotion.

“It would have strained relations with the Palace and the new King.”

Another added that the idea was a “non-starter”.

There were also apparently questions over who would pay for the Sussexes to fly on board the iconic aircraft.

The US government pays for officials to travel, while Mr Biden pays personally for family members and his party foots the bill for travel to campaign events.

The laws around politicians giving and receiving perks of that nature are very strict in the US, especially if they can be seen as helping campaign prospects.

It comes after a pal of the couple denied claims that they are “taking time apart” after rumours of a rift emerged.

Meanwhile, the pair’s much-derided, Royal-bashing Netflix show has been put up for a prestigious TV gong after being snubbed at the Emmys.

Representatives of the Sussexes have been contacted for comment.

The White House declined to comment when contacted by the Mail.
