Meet Mark Phillips
Mark Phillips, born in 1948 in Gloucestershire, comes from a long line of military personnel. He served in the Army and eventually retired in 1978. In addition to his military career, Phillips became a champion equestrian, winning Olympic gold medals in 1972.
The Love Story with Princess Anne
Mark Phillips and Princess Anne met through the equestrian circuit and began dating shortly after. They got married in November 1973 at Westminster Abbey. The couple had two children together – Peter and Zara.
Trouble in Paradise
Marital problems plagued the couple, with rumors of extramarital affairs and public strain. The breaking point came when Phillips fathered a love child in 1985. Princess Anne and Phillips separated in 1989 and divorced in 1992.
Life After Divorce
After the divorce, Phillips moved on and married Sandy Pflueger in 1997. They had a daughter together but divorced in 2012 due to infidelity. Phillips later had an affair with Lauren Hough. In 2022, he was spotted with his new girlfriend, Florence Standaert.
Current Residence
Following the divorce, Mark Phillips lived at Aston Farm with his second wife for some time before moving to the United States.
