CAMILLA’s popularity with the British public has absolutely rocketed since the Queen formally gave her the royal seal of approval.
Last week Her Majesty declared that it was her “heartfelt desire” that the Duchess of Cornwall be known as Queen Consort once Prince Charles becomes King.
While tradition has always dictated that the wife of a King be known as Queen Consort, it had long been thought that, with Camilla being Prince Charles’ second wife and the enduring popularity of Princess Diana, Camilla may not use the title.
Over the past couple of decades there have also been questions over Camilla’s own popularity with the public – but it appears that is now all water under the bridge thanks to the Queen’s recent comments.
A survey has now found that 55% of Brits back the move for Camilla to become Queen after Her Majesty’s death, the Daily Mail reported.
