THE QUEEN’s social media pages have had a very noticeable change following the death of her “beloved” husband Prince Philip.

The Monarch’s official Instagram page, The Royal Family, once had a photo of her with the Duke of Edinburgh, but her team recently changed it to a photo of Her Majesty on her own.

The Queen’s social media pages have changed following the death of Prince Philip

The heartbreaking move comes after a two week mourning period following the death of Prince Philip, which saw the Queen, Prince Charles and the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge change their pictures on Instagram and Twitter to black and white images.

The Duke of Edinburgh, who had been married to the Queen for 73 years, passed away “peacefully” at Windsor Castle on April 9, aged 99.

Now the official mourning period is over, the images have returned to normal, except, of course, for the Queen’s Instagram account which has a new image.

Before losing her husband, the monarch had a photo of her beaming at the camera with Philip appearing in the background.

The Queen's appearance today comes after the Royal Family gathered for a poignant final farewell to Philip on April 17

The change comes just weeks after Prince Philip passed away at aged 99

Now, it’s a solo snap which looks to be taken last year during her visit to the MI5 headquarters at Thames House.

That’s not the only change, though, as the team also added a new highlights section honouring the late Prince Philip.

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry do not have an Instagram page after they were forced to give up their royal titles as a result of Megxit.

They did, however, update their Archewell website, which they used to share a tribute to Harry’s grandfather.

Following the funeral, they reportedly removed all other information from the site leaving nothing but Harry’s touching words.

Much like the official social pages of the royal family, the Archewell website as now returned to normal, but Harry’s tribute and a photo of him with Philip still remain.

The Queen was seen yesterday for her first official public engagement since her husband’s funeral earlier this month.

She swapped her black mourning outfit for a pale blue floral dress which she accessorised with a stunning diamond brooch in a sweet nod her to husband of 73 years.

The broach she chose for the occasion appears to be the Nizam of Hyderabad floral royal brooch which was once a part of a tiara gifted to her on her wedding day to Prince Philip in 1947.

The Queen and Prince Philip celebrated their 73rd wedding anniversary in November last year with the monarch crediting her late husband as her “strength” over the years.

Meanwhile, we shared inside the Maltese villa where the Queen clutched a picture of her & Prince Philip together at the Duke’s funeral.

And the Queen released heartwarming new pics of her looking affectionately at Prince Philip to honour his legacy.
