Prince William chooses to support from home

Prince William, the President of the FA, has decided not to attend the 2023 Women's World Cup final in Australia. Reports suggest that the long distance and the associated carbon footprint are behind his decision. The Prince will be supporting the Lionesses from home.

No Royal Family members expected

The absence of Prince William is not the only notable one. None of the UK's Royal Family members, including Prime Minister Rishi Sunak, are expected to attend the final. However, the Royal Spanish Football Federation announced that Queen Letizia and Infanta Sofia will be in the stands to support the Spanish team.

Prince William's message of support

Even though he won't be there in person, Prince William has expressed his support for the England women's team. In a video message shared on social media, he wished the Lionesses good luck and expressed his pride in what they have achieved and the inspiration they have provided. Prince Charles also sent a message of support to the team.
