LIFE in the cobbles is slowly returning to normal for Amy Barlow following her horrific rape ordeal.
But the Coronation Street teen portrayed by Elle Mulvaney is hit by another bombshell in scenes airing next week on ITV.

She stood up to her rapist Aaron Sandford
But the ordeal has taken a lot of time and energy from her
Corrie actor James Craven is tipped for exit in upcoming weeks after his character Aaron Sandford was involved in a hard-hitting rape storyline.
And with his departure from the ITV program comes an opportunity for a fresh start for Amy Barlow whom he raped during a drunken evening earlier this year.
Amy was left deeply traumatised by the ordeal and struggled to get her life back on track, particularly as her university work was left on the backburner while she tried to pick herself back up.
But next week, she tells her friend Summer Spellman (Harriet Bibby) that she intends to start afresh and focus on university.
However, her tutor drops devastating news on her – she has no choice but to repeat the whole year.
Amy is shocked and immediately thinks of dropping out altogether… until Summer tries to cheer her up.
Summer soon points out that by re-doing the year, Amy will be starting university again with her.
Regular viewers of the Manchester-based program will remember that Summer’s own path to university was troubled when she was caught cheating during an A-level exam in 2022.
At the time, Summer had been desperate to get into Oxford university but decided to give herself time before thinking of where she wanted to go.
Earlier this year, Amy gave her advice on which university to attend and it seems Summer’s choice is made next week.
But what will Amy decide to do?
Will she follow Summer’s advice?
Summer isn’t the only one to have something to recommend to Amy as Toyah Battersby (Georgia Taylor) soon approaches her.
She tells Amy that she knows exactly the kind of pain she’s going through as she was also raped.
Toyah recommends a counsellor, urging Amy to book an appointment.
But will she listen?
Coronation Street airs every Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 8pm on ITV.
