WEEKS have gone by since Tom King returned to the Dales and Belle Dingle is trying to catch up with him.

However, this leads to her making a shocking confession to him next week in Emmerdale. How will he react?

Belle Dingle opens up to Tom King next week

The lad returned after a decade away

He’s struggled to mend his relationship with his uncle Jimmy

Regular ITV viewers will know that Thomas King (portrayed by newcomer James Chase) spent a decade away from the eponymous village.

This means he missed out on a lot of big events of his former girlfriend Belle Dingle’s life.

Upon his return, Tom initially struggled to mend his relationship with his uncle Jimmy (Nick Miles), particularly due to his late father Carl’s actions.

Belle (Eden Taylor-Draper) took it upon herself to push them together, which hasn’t been the easiest of tasks.

But after an explosive altercation, Jimmy and Tom both agree to a fresh start without the villain’s shadow hanging over them.

As she was trying to get Tom to talk with Jimmy, Belle decided to tell him all about her involvement in Gemma Andrews’ death, although she was scared of how he would react.

Next week, she decides to make the most of his good mood to tell Tom about her struggles with her mental health, which leaves him shell-shocked.

Fans of the Yorkshire-based drama may have forgotten that Belle first displayed troubling signs of mental illness in 2014, a year following Gemma’s death.

She began to hear voices and was convinced Gemma had come back from the dead to haunt her.

Later on, Belle suffered from psychosis and heard more voices again.

Unable to cope, she slept in the rough and remained disorientated until her family stepped in to help.

Her mother Lisa Dingle took her to see a doctor and Belle was eventually diagnosed with schizophrenia.

But while her condition may frighten those who are unfamiliar with it, Belle is surprise when Tom kisses her, unfazed by the revelation.

Belle is made up by the strength of their relationship – but is all really as it seems with Tom?

Emmerdale airs weeknights from 7.30pm on ITV.
