The four-part prime time drama is expected to land on the channel later this year with filming set to commence next week on location in Ireland.

Larry Lamb will also be appearing

The Inheritance will bring together a selection of famous faces from soap with former Emmerdale, Coronation Street and EastEnders stars all getting involved.

Gaynor Faye is due to appear in the show marking her first major acting role since quitting ITV’s Emmerdale as Megan Macey.

She is also remembered for her impressive stint on Dancing on Ice as well as playing the role of Judy Mallet in Corrie in the 90s.

Playing Gaynor’s brother is ex-Corrie hunk Rob James-Collier, famed for his role as Liam Connor.

He left the soap when his character met an untimely end at the hands of a hit and run organised by his love rival Tony Gordan.

Rob has since gone onto have successful stints in Downton Abbey and school-based drama Ackley Bridge.

Jemima Rooper joins Rob and Gaynor to play the three siblings, Daniel, Sian and Chloe, who are central to the show’s cast.

Legendary actor Larry Lamb is also set to star in the gritty new drama as the trio’s father.

Having recently competed in the Strictly Christmas special, Larry is most well-known for his roles in BBC soap EastEnders and iconic comedy Gavin & Stacey.

James Bond and Outnumbered star Samantha Bond and Good Morning Britain and Ackely Bridge’s Adil Ray will also join the star-studded line-up.

The three siblings will find themselves aghast by the death of their father, Dennis, but after discovering they have not been left anything in his will, they set out on a mission to discover if his death was all as it seems or if there could have been foul play invovled.

With secrets exposed and relationships hanging on the line, the siblings have to do everything they can to claw back their remaining inheritance.

Paul Testar, the commissioning editor for Channel 5 and Paramount+, said: “With an exceptional ensemble cast, The Inheritance is a brilliant addition to the channel’s ever-expanding drama slate and will have viewers on the edge of their seats. I’m looking forward to seeing it air later on this year.”
