CORONATION Street fans are in shock after a long-term couple split up tonight.
The ITV soap stunned viewers with the shock move as Leanne Battersby kicked Nick Tilsley out of their apartment after he attempted to get drug dealer Damon off their backs for good.
Fans were shocked as Leanne and Nick have seemingly split up
Nick set Damon up as he invited him to the flat to collect the drugs
Nick summoned Damon to collect the drugs from the flat and once the handover was complete, Damon was dragged out of his car by the police.
“I’m arresting you on suspicion of possession of Class A drugs with intent to supply,” Craig said as Damon was handcuffed.
Nick and Leanne looked on in shock and upstairs Leanne was horrified that Nick set Damon up.
Immediately springing into action she began cleaning the house so there would be no trace of the drugs.
She sniped that she didn’t know anything as Nick tried to calm her down.
Later when Craig arrived to update the couple, Leanne had to pretend to be shocked at the news that Damon is Harvey’s brother.
And she was furious that she had to lie to the police to cover up Nick’s part in it all.
When they got home, Sam had questions about what happened.
But as Nick sat him down to explain what he could, Sam was horrified that he was the brother of the man who murdered his mum.
Sam was devastated and packed up the DJ kit that Damon gave him to take to the charity shop.
“I don’t want it here, and I don’t want you here either,” he told his dad.
“I think we’ll be safer without you. Harvey killed my mum, I miss her, you shouldn’t even talk to his brother.”
Nick argued that they should be together as a family – but in a shocking move, Leanne agreed with Sam and kicked Nick out.
She told him: “I think Sam should be able to deal with this in his own way. I think he’s right, maybe we all need a bit of space. You should move out for a bit.”
Fans are in shock at the split.
One wrote: “Leanne telling Nick to move out. You ain’t exactly a saint yourself Leanne remember that.”
A second said: “As if Leanne would take a child’s decision on whether they separate for a bit and nick moves out.”
Another added: “Why is it that Nick & Leanne answer to Sam when Sam should answer to them. How dare he more or less tell Nick to leave.”
