CORONATION Street’s Maria Connor will discover serial killer Gary Windass’ identity as a loan shark after revealing that shes carrying his baby.
Viewers of the ITV soap have seen sparks fly between the pair but in upcoming scenes their relationship is set to take a dark turn as Ali exposes evil Garys secrets and lies.
Gary has been romancing Maria over the last few months after the lothario stepped in to pay for her shopping.
Maria then fell for the dodgy builder’s charms and agreed to babysit his son Jake in return for the favour.
The pair then started dating and Gary has since gone to great lengths to make it official with the hairdresser, fighting off ex lover and drug addict doctor Ali Neeson.
The duo’s relationship didnt get off to the best of starts, with Gary spying on Maria as she shared a steamy kiss with Ali.
And things are set to go from bad to worse in upcoming episodes as evil Garys secrets come tumbling out on the cobbles.
Maria later drops the bombshell to Gary that shes pregnant.
The super villain is keen for them to view the flat in Victoria Court thats up for rent and Maria is sky high at the proposition.
But Tyrone has his suspicions when Gary shows off his flash 4×4 as the villain claims he got it during a house clearance.
A jealous Sarah spots Gary presenting Maria with keys for the car and is shocked when she soon realises that Maria is pregnant.
Meanwhile, Ali has been doing some digging on fishy Gary.
Seeking out Maria, the doc warns his ex that her boyfriend is a loan shark and that his furniture shop is just a cover for his dodgy dealings.
And while Maria is putting up a poster advertising Weatherfield Winter Wonderland, Big Garth spots her designer handbag and assures her its not fake.
Realising it must have cost hundreds, Maria finally confronts Gary about his endless cash.
He denies everything and insists that he beat up Ryan because he stole from him.
But will Maria believe the serial killer father of her baby?
Discussing her characters relationship with Gary, actress Samia Ghadie said that she fears the worst for Maria: I think it has trouble all over it because Gary is a bad lad.
She added: Maria doesnt know that though, and thinks that they have a lot in common, both being single parents of boys of a similar age.”
She also said: They start a nice friendship and theres a natural progression into a relationship, but Maria definitely doesnt know what shes getting herself into.
