Yasmeen pleads not guilty to Geoff’s attempted murder

What do we know about Yasmeen’s plea in Corrie?

After Monday night’s episode ended with the judge asking Yasmeen whether she would plead guilty or not guilty, Corrie fans will have to wait until Wednesday’s episode (June 10, 2020) to watch her enter her plea.

But luckily for impatient viewers, Corrie spoilers have already revealed that Yasmeen will plead NOT guilty.

Yasmeen’s newfound bravery is largely thanks to Alya, who visited Yasmeen during Monday night’s episode prior to her hearing.

Alya finally got Yasmeen to open up and talk about the abuse she has suffered at the hands of Geoff, including when he cooked her chicken and forced her to clean.

Alya then begged Alya to plead not guilty to Geoff’s attempted murder charge, but Yasmeen was worried how Geoff would react.

Corrieboss Ian MacLeod has promised Geoff will meet his downfall

Will Yasmeen be convicted in Corrie?

Corrie are yet to confirm whether Yasmeen will be convicted, but that hasn’t stopped fans fearing the worst on Twitter.

One fan said: “I swear if #yasmeen is convicted after the painful months of watching #geoff gaslight her then the #corrie writers are sadistic and cruel.”

Another added: “If yasmeen goes to prison I swear it’ll be the final straw for this country #coronationstreet.”

Corrie producer Ian MacLeod has already confirmed that Geoff will meet his downfall this year.

He previously said: “What form that comeuppance takes is still in discussion. We wanted a redemptive ending ultimately for Yasmeen.”

Adding that he, Ian and Shelley had been in correspondence with real-life abuse victims, Ian continued: “For the sake of all those people, we have to tell the right ending with some positivity and optimism.”

But Corrie are yet to confirm whether this means Yasmeen will be freed from prison, and fans will have to tune in to find out.

Do Sally and Tim turn against Geoff in Corrie?

Corrie fans know that a string of suspicious events has left Sally fearing that there’s something dodgy about Geoff.

She was horrified recently when she discovers that Geoff used an escort agency while married to Yasmeen.

But her turning point comes the following week when Yasmeen pleads not guilty to the attempted murder charge.

Finally taking Yasmeen’s side, Sally orders Tim to kick Geoff out of the house.

The following week she then makes a public stand against Geoff and refuses to sit with him and Tim at the Rovers.

Sally Dyvenor – who plays Sally on the ITV soap – appeared on This Morning recently where she opened up about the harrowing abuse storyline.

Admitting that Sally will be pivotal in upcoming scenes, the actress explained: “Remember, Sally spent time in prison for something that she didn’t do, so there’s no way she will allow Yasmeen to spend years behind bars for something she didn’t do.”

Speaking about the impact of the storyline on her relationship with Tim, Sally continued: “This is really going to be affected because he’s on Team Geoff, and I was on Team Geoff but now I found out about what’s going on, I’m going on to Team Yasmeen.

“I think Sally would want to help her as much as she possibly can.”
