Character Peter Barlow, portrayed by Chris Gascoyne, takes extreme action against bullies

In the latest episode of Coronation Street, Peter Barlow decides to take matters into his own hands to deal with the teen bullies plaguing his son Simon. However, his plan quickly backfires.

A Tough Time for Peter Barlow

Peter Barlow has been struggling in recent weeks following his involvement in a fatal accident that resulted in the death of murderer Stephen Reid.

Stolen Vapes

In the episode, Peter's son Simon reveals that a box of vapes he intended to sell has been stolen from his car. Simon was distracted by a bully named Mason, who tricked him into thinking he had dropped his phone down a drain while another bully named Dylan stole the box of vapes.

Peter's Rampage

Peter discovers that Dylan had sold one of the vapes to Max's friend and decides to confront the teen. He kicks down the door of Eileen's house, where Dylan and Mason are hiding, and grabs Dylan by the back of his coat. However, Peter doesn't have concrete proof against Dylan, as Simon hadn't actually witnessed him taking the vapes.

Intervention and Consequences

Peter is convinced to leave by Gary and later questioned by Sean, who threatens to call the police. Carla, Peter's wife, intervenes and convinces Sean not to involve the authorities due to Peter's difficult past. Carla then confronts Peter about his behavior, leading to an emotional confession about his struggles following Stephen's murder.

Viewer Reactions

Coronation Street fans took to social media to express their thoughts on Peter's actions. Some criticized his behavior, labeling him a "bully," while others expressed their dislike for the character.

Coronation Street airs on ITV1 and ITVX.
