EASTENDERS fans are furious over the ending of DCI Keeble’s war with Phil Mitchell.

The corrupt EastEnders cop was determined to destroy Phil and the Mitchell family for his dad murdering her dad in cold blood.

Phil begged Keeble to end their war

Fans were shocked when the copper backed down

But after being shot herself, she backed down and dropped it all leaving fans confused.

“Just make the call to your witness,” Phil begged her.

“You do not die like your old man did in a warehouse. We can both walk away from this, we can. It’s not Billy’s fault, it’s not my fault – we both suffered under Eric for years.

“He did everything he could to break me – beatings and humiliations. For years and years.

“But you can end this now, I’m begging you. Just make the call, I’m begging you.”

Phil walked away and revealed Keeble agreed – and that she called off her fake witness, saving Billy from life behind bars.

He told Keanu to take her to a hospital for treatment – and after Kat insisted that he drop his vendetta against him – he let him return to Walford.

Back in the Square, Phil found himself confronted by Honey.

“That was the last time you put my Billy on the line,” she told him.

“Have you any idea of what you’ve put my family through, the pain, the fear? Billy might take it but I’m warning you Phil, I’m not scared of you.

“And if I have to take you on then I will because I will protect my family until there’s not one breath left in my body.”

Reeling from the confrontation with Honey, Phil went home and Kat was left to deal with.

She raged at Phil for putting her and her boys in danger.

In a rare display of emotion, Phil was in tears as he told Kat that she means everything to him – and he begged her to stay.

Meanwhile in the hospital, Keanu listened in as Keeble kept to her promise and pretended she had no idea who shot her.

But viewers aren’t impressed.

One wrote: “Keeble doing the right thing – wonders never cease.”

A second said: “After all that, all Keeble and Phil needed was a cuppa tea and a deep meaningful conversation.”

But others were glad to see the back of Keeble, with one writing: “It’s finally over.”
