EASTENDERS fans were left shocked as they remember former couples and flings they have forgotten about.

From being jilted at he alter to keeping it in the family, we reminisce the most surprising former flames on the BBC soap.

Chelsea once dated her now step dad Jack

Jack Branning and Chelsea Fox

Before Jack (Scott Maslen) tied the know with Denise Fox (Diane Parish), Jack briefly dated her daughter Chelsea (Tiana Benjamin) back in 2010.

But their fling didn’t last long as Jack got shot and realised his heart was with Ronnie Mitchell (Samantha Womack).

Now Jack is Chelsea’s step dad in their blended family.

Ian and Denise shocked fans by coupling up

Ian Beale and Denise Fox

Denise shocked viewers after she embarked on a surprising romance with businessman Ian Beale (Adam Woodyatt).

She cheated on Ian with an even more surprising one-night stand with Phil Mitchell (Steve McFadden).

But the pair called it quits after Ian’s daughter Lucy’s (Hetti Bywater) murder and the revelation of Ian’s fling with then-prostitute Rainie Cross (Tanya Franks)

Billy and Karen called it quits shortly after going public

Billy Mitchell and Karen Taylor

Billy (Perry Fenwick) and Karen (Lorraine Stanley) had an unexpected romance in 2020.

The couple relived their youth as they enjoyed secret meetups and steamy nights together.

But, their romance soon fizzled out and agreed to remain friends.

Jack jilts Sharon at their wedding

Jack Branning and Sharon Watts

Jack has had many romances on the square, but perhaps his most unusual one was with Sharon (Letitia Dean) back in 2013.

The pair were set to get married until Jack said he couldn’t marry her at the alter.

Sharon was left heartbroken after Jack confessed he was still in love with his ex Ronnie.

Sparks flew for Honey and Jay

Jay Brown and Honey Mitchell

Another couple that surprised and somewhat disgusted fans were Jay (Jamie Borthwick) and Honey (Emma Barton), as they were considered family.

As well as their age difference, Honey had known Jay since he was a child and helped raise him with Billy Mitchell after Jay’s dad was murdered.

However, they soon realised they were with the wrong person as Honey reunited with her ex Billy and Jay married the love of his life Lola Pearce.
