EASTENDERS viewers are convinced they have sussed where Reiss Colwell’s secret wife is after the soap gives away a huge clue.
Monday night’s episode of the BBC soap gave fans another possible clue about the circumstances of Reiss Colwell’s (Jonny Freeman) secret marriage.
Fans are convinced they have figured out where Reiss’ wife is
Reiss agreed to move in with Sonia – but will she unearth his secret about his wife?
Reiss took a call from someone who was obviously not his wife – but the call was clearly about her as he asked if everything was okay.
“Well, I’m glad you’re with her,” he told the person on the other end of the line. “Yes, next Thursday – I’ll be there, as per.”
Is Reiss leading a double life? What is Reiss really up to?
Some fans think his wife might be in a care home due to the fact that he was talking to a third party about his wife.
Or she might have a long-term illness which leaves Reiss paying her regular visits rather than living with her.
With Reiss excited about living with Sonia (Natalie Cassidy) suggests that his wife hasn’t been home for a while.
Taking to Twitter, one fan said: “I feel like maybe Reiss won’t be dodgy and his wife is in like a hospice… kind of like Jane and her husband when she was first introduced #eastenders.”
Another wrote: “I think Reiss’s wife may be terminally ill and she’s given him permission to move on with someone else cause of it. he could have been caring for her too. #Eastenders.”
As a third said: “My sweet Reiss has a secret wife, I think she’s in a care facility #EastEnders.”
Reiss first arrived onto Albert Square last December as the great nephew of Dot Branning (June Brown).
He quickly struck up a friendship followed by a romance with Sonia.
Reiss recently agreed to move in with Sonia, but shortly after he made a secret phone call asking to speak to his wife.
Viewers thought he was separated from his wife, however EastEnders have hinted she is still very much in the picture.
EastEnders airs Monday to Thursday at 7:30pm on BBC One.
