An EastEnders star has expressed his disappointment over the BBC's recent announcement to cancel the beloved hospital drama, Doctors. Davood Ghadami, who gained fame through his role in EastEnders, took to social media to share his thoughts on the show's discontinuation.

Reminiscing on His Time on the Show

In an Instagram post, Ghadami posted a picture of himself during his time on Doctors in 2013. He expressed his sadness over the decision to end the show, reminiscing on the valuable experiences and learnings he gained while working on it. Ghadami also expressed his sympathy for the cast, crew, and loyal fans of the show.

Responding to Ghadami's post, Holby City's Rosie Marcel shared her thoughts, calling the cancellation of Doctors, along with shows like The Bill and Holby, the end of an era for aspiring actors.

Fans also expressed their disappointment, with one commenting on the blow to the show's team and another questioning the BBC's sudden shift away from medical dramas.

A Rising Star

Before his success in EastEnders, Ghadami appeared in the final series of the ITV detective drama Taggart as Duncan Clark. However, it was his role as Aran Chandar in Doctors from 2012 to 2013 that marked his breakthrough. Following his time on Doctors, Ghadami went on to appear in other popular shows such as Casualty, Life's Too Short, Law & Order, Skins Redux, Doctor Who, Top Boy, Fast Freddie, Silent Witness, Criminal Justice, and Spooks.

His portrayal of Kush Kazemi in EastEnders earned him the Best Newcomer award at the TV Choice Awards, as well as nominations for Best Newcomer and Best Actor at the British Soap Awards.

Continuing His Journey

After his character Kush was killed off in EastEnders, Ghadami joined the cast of the BBC medical drama Holby City as Eli Ebrahimi in April 2021. This latest venture showcases his versatility as an actor and demonstrates his commitment to exploring new roles and opportunities.

Davood Ghadami's talent and dedication have undoubtedly left a lasting impact on the television industry, and fans are excited to see where his career takes him next.
