EMMERDALE star Natalie Ann Jamieson revealed she fears her future on the soap amid influx of character exits.

The Amy Wyatt actress has spoken about how the Emmerdale cast worry about what’s in store for her character due to the nature of soaps.

Natalie Ann Jamieson reveals it’s a relief to not be killed off

Natalie previously told The Mirror: “We’ve had lots of leaving parties lately. It’s strange and sad, but it’s the nature of soaps.

“There’s always a turnaround. Any minute could be your last so you just enjoy every moment.

“You hear there’s a serial killer and you automatically think ‘we’re all going to die, it’s definitely going to be me’.

“In your head, you’ve already written it ‘of course it’s going to be me because I did this’.”

“You join the dots. It’s always a relief when it’s not.”

This year, we’ve said goodbye to Emmerdale favourites including Priya Sharma, played by Fiona Wade, and Marcus Dean, played by Darcy Grey, while we’ll soon see character Naomi Walters, played by Karene Peters.

And as part of the ITV’s soap’s 50th anniversary storylines, Emmerdale fans had to pay a farewell to Harriet Finch, played by Katherine Dow Blyton, Al Chapman, played by Michael Wildman and Liv Dingle, played by Isobel Steele.

Natalie has appeared in the ITV soap as Amy Wyatt since March 2019.

When she first joined the show, she said: “I feel very lucky to be joining the cast of such a loved and respected show.

“I’m very grateful for this opportunity, and can’t wait to find out what the future holds for Amy!”

The role of Amy was previously played by Chelsea Halfpenny  between 2010 and 2013.

Before her Emmerdale role, Natalie has appeared in episodes of BBC’s Doctors and ITV’s Vera.

Daisy Campbell, who has Amelia Spencer in Emmerdale since 2011, has said: “I’d love to stay on it for as long as I can. I recently signed for another year and couldn’t be happier.

“But I never take it for granted because you never know when they might kill you off. It can happen to anyone.”

And Paddy Dingle actor Dominic Brunt said: “If I was to go tomorrow though, I wouldn’t complain because I’ve had 25 amazing years – but long may it continue.

“I absolutely love that job to pieces. I can’t explain to you what it means to me.”

Emmerdale airs weeknights from 7:30pm on ITV1 and ITVX.
