Jamie Tate actor Alexander Lincoln left the Yorkshire-based soap in September, 2021, after his character tried to poison his own mother, Kim Tate.
In shocking scenes, the troublemaker’s car was driven into a lake, making viewers believe they wouldn’t be seeing any more of him.
Off-screen, Alexander has focused on many other projects, including a film titled In From The Side.
The 28-year-old portrays a man called Mark who put the future of his rugby club at risk when he embarks on a secret affair with another man.
In From The Side was released in the UK on September 16, 2022, and was an immediate hit – it was even included for the longlist for the British Independent Film Awards shortly after.
“Completely neglected to post this at the time but it was a HUGE moment for me and I was truly honoured to have been included for the longlist for the 2022 BIFA Breakthrough Performance’”, Alexander wrote in an Instagram post.
Followers swarmed over to the comment section, praising the actor for his work.
One particular fan penned: “I loved the movie and its actors are still very handsome but I still think that the actors are posing as gay but they are not. Is it my doubt?”
Alexander took it upon himself to talk about his own sexuality as a response.
“Thanks so much”, he replied, “really appreciate it!!!! And no, I’m not straight.”
A handful of fans were delighted to know more about Alexander’s personal life, which he tends to keep under wraps.
Another follower was even moved by Alexander opening up.
“I know this may sound dumb, but thank you for saying this. I’d already read elsewhere that you’d already said it and it wasn’t exactly a secret or anything, but seeing you say it here on Instagram means a lot more than you know”, they commented.
Alexander often shares snaps of his life behind the cameras as speculation around a potential return to the eponymous village grows.
But, in October, 2021, he sent his fans into a frenzy when he was seen cosying up to a sultry brunette called Shar Holliday.
The pair enjoyed trips to Croatia and the Lake District, hinting they could be a couple.
But the former Emmerdale heartthrob didn’t respond to the rumours, leaving his love life shrouded in mystery.
