AMY Wyatt has made plans to get sole custody of Kyle Winchester out of fear his father is a bad influence on him.

However, Emmerdale viewers have one major complaint about the recent storyline and made it known on social media.

Amy Wyatt planned to get sole custody of Kyle Winchester

She’s recently been butting heads with Cain Dingle

This caused issues between him and Moira

The lad portrayed by Huey Quinn was recently told all charges against him were dropped as Al Chapman’s death had been ruled an unfortunate accident.

But his mother Amy (Natalie Ann Jamieson) jumped on the opportunity to demand sole custody of him, fearing history could repeat itself with Cain Dingle (Jeff Hordley) in Kyle’s life.

In recent scenes aired on ITV, Amy’s plans drove a severe wedge between her and Cain and it even caused problems within the latter’s marriage with Moira (Natalie J. Robb).

Yet the village tough man felt like a bad parent after Kyle turned violent and helped Amy with her plan to move to Belfast with their son.

While she initially seemed happy about her upcoming departure, Amy was later seen breaking down – and viewers had had enough.

During last night’s trip to the eponymous Dales, many soap fans took to Twitter to share their exasperation as they branded the storyline “exhausting” and even “boring.”

“This show is exhausting”, one viewer commented while another echoed: “Absolute shite see you all tomorrow!!”

A third viewer jumped in: “Well at least Amy saw sense in the end after she had been a massive pain and caused a lot of heartache.”

“Kyle’s storyline is so boring. I don’t know if he is staying or going”, another added and a fifth chimed in: “We’re supposed to feel sorry for Amy but I’m pretty sure that this is the exact way it was before Kyle killed Al – cause Kyle was living with Cain and Moira then too just a back to normal thing if you ask me.”

One social media user concluded: “Isn’t it time Amy, Cain, Kyle and Moira went on a long holiday somewhere, talk about over-exposure they’re never off f***** screen.”

The storyline ended when Amy relented, which Caleb Milligan had tried to pressure her into doing, realising Kyle had grown up and could make his own decisions for himself.

She decided to allow him to stay with his father Cain.

Emmerdale airs weeknights from 7.30pm on ITV.
