SECRETS are unravelling this week in the Dales and the police are close to the truth more than ever.

Drama picks up a pace in Emmerdale and one resident realises he’s walking on eggshells.

Secrets are slowly coming to light in the eponymous village

Several residents face intense police questioning this week

They’re hellbent on keeping to their story

But who will the police believe?

1. Residents face questioning

After struggling with a guilty conscience over Al Chapman’s murder, Kyle Winchester came clean about his involvement.

The young boy played by Huey Quinn has found it hard to let his father Cain Dingle (portrayed by Jeff Hordley) take the fall for his actions.

This week, the police are left to gather all the evidence they can to get to the bottom of things.

Five Dales residents thus face some intense questioning.

Coming up on ITV, Kyle’s mother Amy Wyatt (Natalie Ann Jamieson) is concerned when a police officer approaches her.

Moira Dingle (Natalie J. Robb) is also confronted by the authorities at Butler’s Farm, much like her brother Mackenzie Boyd (Lawrence Robb) at Jacob’s Fold.

All of them are asked to head to the police station for questioning.

While in the interview room, Moira sticks to her story as DS Malik questions her about her trip with Kyle.

Mackenzie is just as tight-lipped about the young boy but a panicked Amy struggles to stick to the line during her own interview.

Moira’s son Matty Barton (Ash Palmisciano) is rattled when DS Malik reminds him of the serious consequences of perverting the course of justice.

In later scenes, Matty, Moira, Amy and Mackenzie gather around for a crisis meeting at Butler’s Farm.

They soon realise how high the stakes really are…

To make matters worse, Moira grows increasingly worried about Caleb Milligan (Will Ash) and his involvement in Kyle’s case.

2. Kyle confesses (again)

Newcomer Caleb has been trying to let the truth out in the open while hatching a plan to help Kyle in the best way he can.

But when she and Amy question his methods, Caleb is defensive, well aware of how dire the situation is.

DS Malik soon approaches Kyle himself and the anxious lad is brought in for questioning.

At the police station, hell begins to break loose as Kyle reaffirms he is the one who killed Al.

Will the authorities believe him?

Or could they think he is putting himself in hot water to allow his father to come home?

Will Mack’s one night stand be exposed to Charity?

3. Chloe has a health scare

While he’s somewhat involved in Kyle’s ordeal, Mack Boyd has a lot more on his plate than expected.

The hunk is on edge whenever he thinks about his one night stand becoming public knowledge in the eponymous village.

As viewers will know, Mack is the father of Chloe’s (Jessie Elland) unborn baby and he’s desperate to keep the truth hidden, particularly from his partner Charity Dingle.

But when Sarah Sugden arrives with news of Chloe collapsing and being rushed to hospital, Mackenzie is panicked.

In later scenes, the mother-to-be is surprised to see Sarah alongside Mack and Charity.

The heartthrob can’t stop feeling guilty when he listens to the hardships Chloe has gone through.

When they’re finally alone together, he vows to do whatever he can to support her and the baby.

The following day, Mack is resistant when his friend Nate Robinson (Jurell Carter) suggests he may want more to do with his baby than he’s letting on.

Meanwhile, Charity (Emma Atkins) wonders what’s going on when Sarah plans an out for Chloe.

The latter gets ready to be discharged from the hospital but she’s left uneasy when both Charity and Sarah offer to take her home with them.

To make matters worse, neither of them will be taking no for an answer, although Chloe tries to find a way out of living with them.

Before long, however, Chloe is dragged back home and Mack struggles to hide his panic when he sees she’s all moved in.

He decides to do whatever he can to push her out of the house – but could his efforts backfire?

Rhona is worried about Naomi’s influence on April

4. Rhona attacks a neighbour

Meanwhile, April Windsor (Amelia Flanagan) is testing her limits at home and Rhona Goskirk (Zoe Henry) is growing increasingly concerned for her.

But the vet takes things too far when she attacks one of her neighbours out of worry for her stepdaughter.

Naomi Walters (Karene Peter) is in her target line this week.

Coming up, when Naomi arrives late for work at the Woolpack, it’s clear there’s still tension between her and Rhona.

Matters go from bad to worse when Marshall arrives at Café Main Street and an argument breaks out with April.

There’s more trouble ahead, however, as April punches the lad and Rhona is horrified.

To top it all off, she also learns that April also got herself a piercing.

Nicola King (Nicola Wheeler) isn’t making things any better and, because of her, Rhona grows more concerned about Naomi’s malign influence.

Soon enough, Rhona decides to confront Naomi about her influence on April in the Woolpack… but the argument ends in a physical altercation.

Rhona is then livid when her own husband Marlon Dingle (Mark Charnock) doesn’t take her side.

The following day, Rhona tries to make peace with April by planning a surprise 80’s themed party – will it work?

Unfortunately for Naomi, her row with Rhona will be having consequences on her future at the local pub.

When she arrives to find Woolpack landlady Charity asking Rhona about her, she dreads what’s to come.

In later scenes, Naomi tells her father Charles that she’s been fired.

April then tells Rhona and Marlon that the belly button piercing was her idea, leaving the vet with a tough decision to make.

Bernice gets a huge shock

5. Bernice struggles

Elsewhere in the Dales, Bernice Blackstock (Samantha Giles) is looking forward to take on the B&B as Eric Pollard and Brenda Walker get ready to retire.

However, her sister Nicola fears she’s getting ahead of herself with the plans for her new job.

Sadly for Bernice, Nicola was right to worry.

Bernice gets the rug pulled from under feet when Pollard’s plan to sell the Grange puts her out of a job as she left Mandy Dingle’s salon for her new business venture.

How will Bernice cope?

Emmerdale airs weeknights from 7.30pm on ITV.
