Inside Hollyoaks’ stars weekend away with teepee tent, jacuzzi and incredible views

HOLLYOAKS star Lauren McQueen looked to be having a very wholesome weekend away with her co-stars recently, as she enjoyed time in North Yorkshire.

The stunning brunette actress, 26, who is known for her role as Lily Drinkwell on the soap, decided to leave the show in 2019 to pursue other roles.

But that hasn’t stopped Lauren from keeping in touch with her Hollyoaks pals, and she shared a smiling selfie alongside Haiesha Mistry, who plays Yasmine Maalik, and Ruby O’Donnell, who plays Peri Lomax.

The ladies donned bikinis, with Ruby holding up a red cup, as they snapped their photo with the Yorkshire countryside in the background.

Lauren could be seen with her brunette locks to one side, donning a black cap, and Haiesha posed in a pink and red bikini.

In separate snaps, Lauren gave a peek inside the staycation – which included a countryside BBQ, a fry up and roasting marshmallows.

“A very wholesome Yorkshire weekend,” Lauren penned as the caption of the photo, shared with her 166,000 followers.

Lauren had played the role of Lily since January 2017, and she was involved in some of the show’s most high profile storylines.

Lily’s self-harming storyline was credited with raising awareness of the problem with teenagers across the country.

Heartbreaking scenes saw her entire family struggling to cope as they tried to help her stop.

A source said at the time of her departure: “Lauren is one of the show’s biggest talents so it’s a big loss but it’s only natural she wants to spread her wings.

“It’s not been an easy decision but it’s the right one for her.”

Lauren’s character Lily ended up dying from an infected self-harm injury, and she sobbed as she watched her final scenes air.

She told fans at the time: “Thanks so much everyone who watched tonight. Yes I am a mess!”

She later shared a series of pictures with her co-stars, writing: “Lily McQueen will be forever in my heart! Thank you so so much for everyone’s support & messages on my last episode.

“I feel so lucky to have been apart of @hollyoaksofficial I love that they aren’t afraid to confront challenging issues like Lily’s self harm & sepsis.

“They tackled it beautifully and I can’t thank them enough for nominating me for Best Actress at this year’s @thebritishsoapawards.”
