Reconnecting with her childhood sweetheart
Lydia Dingle, played by Karen Blick, is set to take a dangerous leap of faith in the next episode of Emmerdale when she reconnects with her ex-boyfriend, Craig.
Struggling to make ends meet
Lydia and her partner, Sam Dingle, have been grappling with financial difficulties ever since the birth of their granddaughter Esther last year. With hours at work being cut, Lydia decides to attend a job fair in an attempt to find more employment opportunities.
An unexpected reunion
At the job fair, Lydia runs into Craig, who she knows from their time in the children's home. The two quickly catch up and reminisce about their shared past.
Job offer and work experience
Craig offers Lydia a job, which she eagerly accepts. Meanwhile, their son Samson becomes fascinated by Craig's wealth and asks Lydia to help him secure some work experience at Craig's company, which is responsible for one of Samson's favorite phone games.
Tensions rise
As Lydia becomes more involved with Craig, tensions begin to arise between her and Sam. Sam feels pushed out and insignificant in comparison to Craig. Will their relationship survive this new development?
The introduction
Eventually, Lydia introduces Craig to Samson, who is left in awe of Craig's presence. Craig and Samson even team up to fix some neglected guttering, further exacerbating Sam's feelings of insecurity.
Should Sam be worried?
As Craig integrates himself into Lydia and Samson's lives, Sam must confront his anxieties and decide whether there is cause for concern.
