The hunk portrayed by Lewis Cope first rocked up the Dales when Gabby Thomas (played by Rosie Bentham) and Dawn Fletcher were looking for a nanny for their children.
Time went by and Gabby decided to admit she had been feeling attracted to Nicky.
Both of them embarked on a secret romance before coming clean to Kim Tate who was in no way supportive of the new relationship.
In scenes recently aired on ITV, Nicky tried to prove he had the best intentions and asked Gabby to marry him while in the Hide Café.
Next week, however, Nicky shows he’s clearly eager to get married as soon as possible.
Unfortunately, Gabby isn’t on the same wavelength and questions his reasoning – could he be exposed?
While Gabby hasn’t figured out what he’s really up to, Nicky was revealed to be a part of Caleb Milligan’s plan to take Kim Tate down.
After months of speculation, viewers of the Yorkshire-based program were finally told that Nicky is Caleb’s son and Frank Tate’s grandson.
The pair are trying to get their hands on the Home Farm estate, which was taken over by Kim Tate following Frank’s death in 1997.
In one of the show’s latest episodes, Kim received a letter about Frank’s will and was told about the existence of an “illegitimate son” wanting their share.
But she has yet to figure out who it could be.
To get what they want, Caleb pushed his son Nicky to seduce Gabby although soap fans are convinced he could embark on a shock romance behind her back.
Many viewers believe Nicky to be gay and ready to find real love in the form of freshly single Ethan Anderson.
