BRUTAL scenes have shown what Stephen Reid is capable of doing to keep his scheming under wraps.

After murdering Leo Thompkins, there’s no doubt the businessman could strike again in Coronation Street. But who could be next?

Stephen Reid has shown he’s capable of the worst

Gabrielle Reid came to the cobbles in September, 2022

1. Gabrielle Reid

The brand new villain portrayed by Todd Boyce got a nasty shock when his estranged wife made an impromptu appearance in the cobbles in September, 2022.

Helene Maksoud took on the role of the no-nonsense businesswoman who confronted Stephen after he stole 200,000 euros from her company.

She even threatened to get the police involved if he didn’t pay her back.

This would mean Gabrielle has the potential to overthrow Stephen and ruin his plans – as well as reveal the truth about his finances which residents believe to be thriving.

In other words, Stephen has more than enough reason to murder his wife and this puts her at the top of our list.

To make matters worse for Gabrielle, Corrie bosses could take inspiration from one of Weatherfield’s most famous serial killers, Richard Hillman.

As any diehard fan of the Manchester-based program perhaps knows, Richard famously murderer his own wife Patricia in 2002.

Could Stephen follow in his footsteps?

Leo’s father could be on to Stephen

2. Teddy Thompkins

Grant Burgin reprised his role as Leo Thompkins’ father Teddy amid an exit storyline for his on-screen son.

Teddy has never really approved of the latter’s relationship with Rovers landlady Jenny Connor (portrayed by Sally Ann Matthews).

ITV viewers have probably forgotten all about Teddy – could writers bring him back for a bigger purpose?

Much like Jenny, the character believes his son left the cobbles to go to Canada without her.

However, spoilers have confirmed Teddy will be on to the truth as he begins to dig for answers.

Teddy is bound to get suspicious over his son’s sudden disappearance, particularly due to Leo being completely silent and not giving anybody any news.

With his killer secret almost coming to light as Teddy decides to involve the police, could Stephen try to silence him altogether?

Could Jenny be killed off?

3. Jenny Connor

In recent weeks, Jenny shared an illicit kiss with Stephen Reid as he attempted to seduce her.

The kiss caused a stir in her relationship with Leo – and his eventual death as he tried to go after Stephen.

Jenny has been very frosty with Stephen ever since but this is set to change as she struggles to cope with Leo’s unexplained departure.

Could Jenny get closer to the truth by becoming friendlier with Stephen?

Could he try and get a hold of her money next?

Will Daisy try to figure out what Stephen’s intentions are?

4. Daisy Midgeley

Charlotte Jordan‘s character is known for her strong and bold temper and has always had a protective streak when it comes down to the people closest to her.

This includes her stepmother Jenny as she has never shied away from getting involved in her love life.

Could Daisy try to figure out Stephen’s intentions with Jenny – and pay with her life as she realises he’s a killer?

Elaine had her sights on Stephen upon his return

5. Elaine Metcalfe

Upon Stephen’s return to Weatherfield, he first bumped into Elaine Metcalfe, with whom he shared a small amount of chemistry on our screens.

But Stephen was soon side-tracked from Elaine as he flirted with Yasmeen Nazir and they haven’t really been seen spending time together ever since.

However, Elaine could become another one of Stephen’s targets as photos of Paula Wilcox filming scenes with Todd Boyce have hinted she could be on to him.

Upcoming scenes will show Stephen work a secret pizza delivery job to fend for himself and Elaine could catch him in the act as he gets mugged by a group of teens.

Would that be enough for Stephen to commit murder?

Could Audrey be killed off?

6. Audrey Roberts

Corrie boss Iain MacLeod has ruled out any harm coming to the hairdresser played by Sue Nicholls – but could he have tried to throw everyone off Stephen’s scent?

Stephen tried to steal his mother’s fortune as soon as he made his way back to the cobbles in June, 2022.

This led to him trying to push her to sign papers, giving him full authority over a trust fund in which she’d store her money.

As he grows more desperate for cash and for the truth of his antics to remain under wraps, could a vulnerable Audrey meet a sad fate?

If he decides not to target Audrey, could Stephen revive some old wounds for other members of the Platt family?

Only time will tell.

Coronation Street airs Monday, Wednesday and Friday on ITV.
