The long-running villain Stephen Reid finally met his demise on Coronation Street last week, bringing an end to his reign of terror. However, it has now been revealed that a crucial line from his death scene was cut from the episode.
Love Confession Left on the Cutting Room Floor
During Wednesday's episode of This Morning, soap expert Sharon Marshall shared that Todd Boyce, the actor who portrayed Stephen, had disclosed that a line in which he professed his love to his mother Audrey Roberts was removed from the final edit. This omission sheds light on Audrey's recent behavior, as she has been expressing regret over Stephen's death and blaming Peter Barlow for being a "murderer."
A Year of Terror
Stephen's reign of terror lasted for over a year, beginning in September 2022 when he claimed his first victim. The storyline initially had the potential to continue for another six months, according to actor Todd Boyce. However, Coronation Street producer Iain MacLeod decided to give the audience the justice they craved and wrap up the storyline.
What's Next for Todd Boyce?
Following his departure from Coronation Street, Todd Boyce has already lined up his next projects. He will be appearing in a pantomime over Christmas and has been offered a theater role by renowned producer Bill Kenwright. Boyce shared his excitement about being offered the Laurence Olivier part in Sleuth.
