Bookies Suggest Anton Du Beke Could Face Shock Exit from Strictly Come Dancing

Anton Du Beke, the former ballroom dancer, may not be returning to Strictly Come Dancing in the future, according to bookmakers. Du Beke has been a fixture on the popular BBC show since 2004. However, his tenure as a judge could be short-lived, as Ladbrokes has him at high odds of 4/1 to be replaced next year.

From Dancer to Judge

In 2020, Anton Du Beke temporarily stepped in as a judge on Strictly Come Dancing when Motsi Mabuse had to quarantine after traveling to Germany. The following year, in 2021, he was given a permanent spot on the panel to replace Bruno Tonioli, who decided to focus primarily on the US edition of the show.

Dividing Opinion

Anton Du Beke's performance as a judge has divided fans of Strictly Come Dancing. After Saturday night's finale, some viewers called for a change on the judging panel, leading to speculation about Du Beke's future. Ladbrokes' odds suggest that this series could be his last as a judge.

A Long and Loyal Servant

Anton Du Beke has been a loyal servant of Strictly Come Dancing since its inception. He was among the first crop of professional dancers on the show and danced for 18 years, partnering with celebrities such as Kate Garraway, Anne Widdecombe, and Ruth Langsford. Despite allegations of a 'fix' on the show, Du Beke has vehemently denied any involvement in manipulating the voting process.

During an interview on Times Radio, Du Beke stated that he has never been asked to fix the voting and that the judges had the opportunity to eliminate contestants but chose not to. He emphasized that it made no difference to them who stayed or who was eliminated.

As Anton Du Beke's future on Strictly Come Dancing hangs in the balance, fans will have to wait and see if he will continue as a judge or if a new face will join the panel.
