FANS of Strictly Come Dancing we’re left sceptical over Tony Adams’ alleged injury following his exit from the show.

During Sunday night’s show, host Tess Daly revealed that owing to an injury Tony and partner Katya Jones would be unable to compete in the dance off against DJ and presenter Tyler West and his partner Dianne Buswell.

Tony was forced off the show

Fans claimed the football legend was not really injured

Tess told stunned Strictly viewers: “Due to an injury sustained on Saturday night, Tony is unable to take part in the dance off and has decided to withdraw from the competition.

“This means there will be no dance off tonight and Tyler and Dianne are through to Blackpool.”

Tony’s exit was filmed last night after the live show in which he and Katya performed a jive to Land Of 1,000 Dances by Wilson Pickett.

But many fans have been left claiming the sports star was in fact not injured at all.

One fan pointed out how the Arsenal legend listened to the judges advice on how to improve his dance before it was announced he had decided to bow out of the contest owing to injury.

They said: #Strictly well that was weird.  Finally Tony was in the Dance Off, the judges were giving him advice – next thing, it’s announced that he’s injured & won’t be performing in the Dance Off & has decided 2 withdraw.”

Another fan alleged: “Yes tony you were injured and couldn’t do a dance off ,:joy::joy::joy::joy:yeah right!!!”

A third claimed: “No chance Tony Adams was injured tonight, he knew he was going to get beat and sportspeople hate losing  #Strictly.”

A fourth questioned: “Was Tony really injured? #Strictly”

However, a TV insider told SE: “The star was clearly in a lot of pain and discomfort, which only really kicked in afterwards.

“They are was obviously hugely upset because they were desperate to make it through to Blackpool week.

“The contestant in question was consoled by family and friends in the audience and needed to be comforted.”

Some fans were sad to see Tony go after eight weeks of dedication and continued effort: “Aww I’ll miss Tony. He’s so lovely.”

As another wrote: “Well done Tony Adams. All these triple threats going on this programme and there’s a 56 year old recovered alcoholic centre half with dodgy knees who’s given it a real go.”
