Dan Snow –  who will feature in the Strictly Come Dancing festive special on Christmas Day – is preparing for the second series of The Discovery with Dan Snow

Each of the four 90-minute episodes will delve into the fascinating stories behind these discoveries. In one episode, Dan will even venture underwater to explore the mysteries of Atlantis.

The upcoming series, set to air next year on Channel 5, will also provide insights into life in Peru and the construction of Stonehenge during the Iron Age.

Reflecting on his experiences, Dan Snow shared, "I have been lucky enough to see the sites I dreamed about as a child, and I didn't just explore them, but also their stories of discovery. It's been a once-in-a-lifetime experience."

Last month, Dan, a renowned historian, criticized Ridley Scott's blockbuster film Napoleon for its historical inaccuracies. In response, Ridley Scott told him to "get a life," defending the artistic liberties taken in the film.

Among the inaccuracies pointed out by Dan were Napoleon's absence from the pyramids and his non-witnessing of Marie Antoinette's execution. Additionally, Dan highlighted the discrepancy between the film's portrayal of Marie Antoinette's hair and her real cropped hair during the execution.
