STRICTLY Come Dancing star Will Mellor has shared how he keeps the spark alive in his 15-year marriage to wife, Michelle McSween.

The pair – who share two kids together Jayden, 18, and Renee, 14 – tied the knot in 2007 after meeting in 1999.

Coronation Street’s Will Mellor has shared the sweet way he keeps the spark alive in his 15-year marriage

The star does date nights every Saturday and family nights each Friday

Will admitted the regular date nights are hard to keep in place while he’s appearing on Strictly

In an exclusive chat with SE, the actor revealed that date nights are very much still on the cards and that the pair have a day each week blocked off for each other’s company.

Will shared: “We do date night every week. We find it hard at the moment though because I am on the dance floor on Strictly every Saturday, but usually Saturday night is always date night.”

Will, 46, and Michelle met in the late 90s when they were both starring in Oh, What a Night on stage at the Opera House in Manchester.

They started dating and got married eight years later.

Now, all these years on and the two still can’t keep their hands off each other.

As well as cemented date nights, Coronation Street star Will admits they also have family nights with the kids on Friday, and revealed a strict rule he has in place.

“Friday night is always family night and we’ll go out for dinner or play some board games with the kids,” the star shared.

He added: “We try to keep that going especially now the kids are getting older because I really am trying my best to stay fun dad.

“I want it to be important and there’s always no phones at the table. I take all the phones and tablets away.

“We talk about our week and it’s so important for them not to have their technology with them at the table. I fight against all of that.”

Will, who has partnered with James Villa Holidays, opened up on still holidaying regularly with his wife and kids, in a bid to “keep the family unit together.”

The Two Pints of Lager star revealed: “It’s important to create memories like family holidays and trips away.

“You need to have those times with your family. When you’re home you’ve got work and you have to take the bins out and do all that normal stuff and kids disappear to their rooms, but when you’re on holiday you get that real quality family time. I’ve been taking the kids away since they were about two.”

On the back of research that two-thirds would welcome and pay for their children to join them on holiday way into their 20s, Will added: “I am definitely still taking the kids away but now there’s a girlfriend involved too – so the last time we went away my son was like ‘can my girlfriend come’ and I was like ‘yeah great.’

“It’s lovely and she’s lovely and I’d rather him come and bring her along than not come at all. I want to keep our family unit together and we have fun. We go out and have experiences and I want the kids to be able to look back at the fond memories of where we’ve been.

“Life gets very serious very quick. I’m all about while you can go and do what you can possibly do. Don’t grow up too quick because things can get serious very quickly.”

The star emphasised the important of family trips with wife Michelle and their kids Jayden, 18, and Renee, 14
