Amazon Prime offers a wide range of benefits to its members, including free next-day delivery and access to a plethora of free movies and TV shows. One of the most popular perks is Prime Gaming, which provides free games and in-game items for popular titles. However, Amazon has announced that it will no longer be partnering with Riot Games, the developer of games like Valorant, League of Legends, and Teamfight Tactics. This means that Prime Gaming members will no longer have access to in-game goodies for these three games. The partnership will officially end in March 2024, but there will be a few more content drops before then.

End of a partnership

Amazon's decision to split from Riot Games has left many Prime members disappointed. The partnership allowed Prime Gaming subscribers to receive monthly in-game item packs for popular titles like Valorant, League of Legends, and Teamfight Tactics. This was a great way for gamers to earn extra goodies without having to spend a lot of time grinding in the games. However, the partnership will not be renewed when the contract ends, meaning that these in-game items will no longer be available via Prime Gaming.

What to expect

Although the partnership will be ending, there is still some time left for Prime members to enjoy the benefits. There will be at least two more content drops for Valorant, Teamfight Tactics, and League of Legends before the partnership officially ends in March 2024. Any items that are picked up during this time, as well as any in-game items that have been redeemed before the cut-off point, will remain in the players' inventory and can still be used.

Continued benefits

While the discontinuation of the partnership is a blow to Prime Gaming members, Amazon will still offer free item packs for other games, such as Pokémon Go, Overwatch, and Apex Legends. However, it is important to note that League of Legends is one of the most popular games in the world, so the loss of in-game goodies for this title is a significant disappointment for Prime gamers.
