Former Strictly star James Jordan revealed that he rushed his three-year-old daughter, Ella, to the hospital this week as she fought a severe fever. After being initially sent home, James and his wife Ola made the decision to return to the A&E as Ella remained unwell.

Concerned Dad Shares A&E Picture

James Jordan took to social media to share pictures of his daughter in her hospital bed, shedding light on their difficult experience. He explained that Ella finally turned a corner after five days and nights of battling an extremely high temperature.

James recounted their journey, stating that they initially took Ella to the A&E on Wednesday night when her temperature reached 40+. The doctor quickly examined her and concluded that it was a viral infection, advising them to continue using Calpol/Ibuprofen and letting the infection run its course.

Worsening Symptoms and Second Hospital Visit

However, Ella's condition did not improve at home. James revealed that her temperature remained around 39-40, and she vomited several times in her sleep over the next two nights. Concerned for their daughter's health, James and Ola decided to take her back to the A&E.

The second visit to the hospital provided a different outcome. Ella was immediately sent for an X-ray, which revealed a chest infection and tonsillitis. The medical team decided to administer antibiotics through an IV due to the prolonged illness.

In reflection, James advised other parents to trust their instincts, acknowledging that they knew Ella's condition was more serious than a viral infection. He expressed regret for not pushing harder during their initial visit but emphasized the importance of advocating for their child's well-being.

James acknowledged that his criticisms of the NHS might not be well-received by some, but he asserted that he would do anything for his daughter's health.
