Legendary Developer's Games Pulled

Steam has recently removed a number of controversial games from its storefront. The games, developed by industry veteran Peter Molyneux, were taken down following issues with previous releases.

A History of Controversy

Peter Molyneux, known for his work on popular series like Fable, started his own studio, 22cans, which has faced criticism for several gaming releases. One of the early games, the Curiosity Cube, promised players a special prize if they tapped into the center. However, players never received the promised rewards.

The Troubled Games: Godus and Godus Wars

Both Godus and its spin-off Godus Wars were removed from the Steam store. Godus had received "Very Negative" reviews, with players citing a lack of content and numerous bugs. In a statement, 22cans explained that the games were withdrawn due to technical changes affecting their ability to serve necessary game files to new users.

No Completion and Shifting Focus

Despite big promises from 22cans, Godus was never completed. The company has already moved on to its next project, leaving Godus unfinished. Over a year ago, 22cans announced a land sale for its upcoming NFT project Legacy, but there have been no updates, footage, or release date since then.
