Extended Downtime for Fortnite
Fans of Fortnite are eagerly awaiting the game to come back online after an unexpected extension of the maintenance period by Epic Games.
What Happened?
The official Twitter announcement stated that Fortnite encountered an issue during maintenance, leading to at least 8 additional hours of downtime. The game was initially expected to be back by 2pm GMT, but now it's estimated to return by 10pm GMT at the earliest.
Reason for the Delay
The downtime is in preparation for the launch of Chapter 5 Season 2 in Battle Royale mode, featuring significant changes and additions related to Greek mythology.
What to Expect in the Update
The new season, titled Myths & Mortals, will introduce skins for Greek Gods and new points of interest like Mount Olympus on the map.
