FURIOUS gamers have threatened to delete Call of Duty after being forced to download another giant update.

The new Call of Duty Modern Warfare game has become notorious for demanding huge amounts of storage space – with regular updates that take hours to install.

There’s now a moving train in Call of Duty’s Warzone

Call of Duty is one of the most “heavy” games on consoles, commanding as much as 200GB of space.

That’s a huge amount, given that an Xbox typically carries between 500GB and 1TB of storage.

Gamers are often forced to uninstall other games simply to make room for Call of Duty.

The latest Season 5 update requires gamers to download a whopping 36GB patch.

You can enter the Verdansk stadium for the very first time

And the move has sparked fury among gamers.

“I’m gearing up to uninstall soon and move on to other games,” one wrote on Twitter.

“After Season 5 I doubt I’ll be able to handle another update and that will be that.”

Another said: “Might be time to uninstall Modern Warfare and just call it quits.

“I really don’t feel like filling up my hard drive with this bulls***.”

Others accused Call of Duty’s updates of “ruining Xbox”, while one suggested Call of Duty let players redeem points for an extra hard-drive – to boost console storage.

The new Season 5 update is out today, but the season won’t begin until evening in the UK – and around midday in the USA.

There are no pre-installations available for Xbox One and PC.

But you can already download the Season 5 patch on PS4, coming in at just over 36GB.

There’s a new “Shadow Company” that will disrupt Warzone games

However, even if you fully install the patch, you won’t be able to play until the new season formally begins.

Activision has revealed that Season 5 will see “the rise of Shadow Company”.

That’s a new warrior group of Tier One Operators in Verdansk – the familiar home of Warzone.

“An elite PMC, Shadow Company operates outside the boundaries of the original Armistice. Forged from the fires of in-fighting between the Coalition and the Allegiance, Shadow Company has a framework and agenda all of their own,” Activision explained.

They come as a trio, and will appear in Warzone games in a yet-to-be-specified capacity.

It looks like there are new ways to get around the map

According to Activision, they’ll be “disrupting” Verdansk throughout Season 5.

We’ve also heard teasers about other changes coming in Season 5.

For a start, we’re expected to see the entire roof blown off the stadium in Verdansk.

This significantly changes a central portion of the Warzone map, and will add new flavour to every game.

There’s also a moving train coming to Verdansk, with loot to be found on-board.
