Has Sony been hacked?

An investigation has been launched after a Russian cybercrime group claims to have hacked Sony

Sony is currently under investigation after a group known as Ransomed.vc published a statement claiming to have hacked all of Sony's systems. The Russian group has allegedly compromised around 6,000 files, all of which are reportedly in Japanese.

Sony's response

In response to the claims, Sony has released a statement to IGN, stating that they are currently investigating the situation and have no further comment at this time. It remains unclear whether the claims are true or false.

Previous hacks on Sony

If the claims turn out to be true, this would not be the first time Sony has suffered a major hack. In 2011, the company experienced a significant breach that exposed the personal data of approximately 77 million PlayStation Network users. As a result, the PSN had to be taken offline for nearly a month while Sony resolved the issue.
