Hogwarts Legacy Map Size: How big is the open world game?

HOGWARTS Legacy is the latest game from the Harry Potter franchise that lets you freely explore the wizarding world.

One of the most exciting things about it is the big map that’s full of familiar and new places and secrets to discover.

Hogwarts Legacy has a big map.

This includes Hogwarts Castle, Hogsmeade, and a large part of the Scottish Highlands.

Here’s everything you need to know about Hogwarts Legacy’s map.

How big is Hogwarts Legacy map?

Hogwarts Legacy’s map is around 3 sq miles in size, which makes it a fairly large open world.

The size is comparable to games like Fallout 4, which has a world of around 4 sq miles.

It doesn’t compare to games like The Witcher 3, Elden Ring, or Skyrim, but is big enough to fly around in.

Hogwarts Legacy’s map is some 4.2 miles across, from its northernmost tip in North Ford Bog to the southernmost point of Clagmar Coast.

We’ve estimated that distance to be around 2,400 Hippogriffs.

Is Hogwarts Legacy open-world?

Hogwarts Legacy is an open-world game, which means you can choose which areas you would like to explore first.

There is a short tutorial section, but after that it is up to you what you explore.

Certain areas are locked off by the main story, and you will have to continue with this in order to progress.

However, there are plenty of side quests you can do right from the beginning, but we recommend you open the Room of Requirement before you get too far.
