Ubisoft+ offers two tiers of service

As the digital age continues to evolve, more people are opting for subscription services rather than purchasing individual games. While Xbox Game Pass used to dominate the market, many companies are now creating their own services, forcing gamers to subscribe to multiple platforms. The latest contender in the subscription service arena is Ubisoft, the publisher behind popular games like Assassin’s Creed.

Introducing Ubisoft+ Classics and Premium

Ubisoft+ is undergoing changes and will now offer two tiers of service: Ubisoft+ Classics on PC, and Ubisoft+ Premium. Ubisoft+ Classics, available to PC gamers and select PlayStation Plus subscribers, grants access to a library of Ubisoft’s older games such as Far Cry 6, Rainbow Six Siege, and Watch Dogs: Legion. The company has promised to expand this library over time. PC gamers can subscribe to Ubisoft+ Classics for just $7.99 per month, and it is also available for free as part of PS Plus Extra and PS Plus Premium.

The cost of playing new releases

For those eager to play new games like Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown, a more expensive subscription tier is required. Ubisoft+ Premium, priced at $17.99 per month, offers access to Ubisoft’s classic games as well as new releases. The service even includes any premium editions of games, allowing subscribers to enjoy early access to certain titles. While the price tag is steep, it is on par with PS Plus Premium and just $1 more expensive than Xbox Game Pass Ultimate.

Exciting games on the horizon

Despite the higher cost, Ubisoft boasts a lineup of highly anticipated games set to release this year, following the successful launch of Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown. The long-awaited Skull and Bones is scheduled to launch next month, and Star Wars Outlaws will hit the market later in the year. There are also rumors that Assassin’s Creed Jade, a mobile addition to the series, may be added to the service, along with a potential release of Assassin’s Creed Red.
