PlayStation has just announced that the most popular game in the world is coming to the PS4.

And even better news for PS5 owners, it will be available via backwards compatibility, so you can enjoy the game no matter which PlayStation you own.

Roblox arrives on PlayStation today

Roblox, the hugely popular metaverse where users can create and share mini-games with others, is making its way to PlayStation.

The game will be available to download and play for free starting today (October 10).

While the exact launch time is still uncertain, it is expected to refresh on the PlayStation Store at approximately 6pm UK time.

To get your hands on Roblox, simply head to the store page via the PlayStation Store on your console and download it.

Caution advised for parents

Given the open nature of the Roblox platform, which has thousands of games to play, it has become particularly popular with children.

However, parents should exercise caution when allowing their children to play Roblox.

As the platform is unregulated, it is possible to come across questionable content such as toilet simulators or games with excessive violence.

Although Roblox has a recommended age of 13+, statistics reveal that 56% of its user base is actually below this age.

Furthermore, Roblox features a 17+ section that requires age verification, but it can be easily bypassed using an older person’s ID.

Warning: potential risks and issues

While unrelated to Roblox itself, it is worth mentioning that there are several gambling websites that encourage Roblox users to gamble in-game items.

On another note, Roblox has also made a rather concerning announcement – it plans to introduce a dating app within the game in the next five years.

This is especially alarming considering the average age of Roblox users.

If you allow your children to use Roblox, it is crucial to ensure that they do not have an age verified account, as this can allow strangers to message them via the platform.

Reports have emerged of children receiving grooming messages through Roblox, underscoring the importance of closely monitoring your children’s online activity.
