A new streaming service for PlayStation owners
The brand-new streaming service is launching today, October 5, 2023, and is available for both PS5 and PS4 consoles. Users can download the app and start enjoying their favorite films right away.
Sony Pictures Core: The rebranded Bravia Core
Sony Pictures Core, previously known as Bravia Core, is a popular service that allows users to rent or purchase films on Sony's Bravia TVs, Xperia smartphones, and tablets. In celebration of the rebranding next year, Sony is also launching the service as Sony Pictures Core on PlayStation consoles today.
Over 2,000 films available for rent or purchase
The new service offers PS4 and PS5 owners a vast library of more than 2,000 films that can be rented or purchased directly from their consoles. This includes highly anticipated movies like the latest Spider-Man film and the Uncharted film based on the beloved PlayStation game series. Blockbusters such as The Equalizer, No Hard Feelings, Bullet Train, and Ghostbusters: Afterlife are also among the exciting titles announced by Sony.
Exclusive perks for Gran Turismo fans
For PlayStation gamers in the US, the Gran Turismo movie, inspired by the popular racing video game series, is available for purchase starting today. Buyers of the film will receive free in-game perks in the latest Gran Turismo 7 video game, including cars featured on the big screen. The Gran Turismo film will soon be available for purchase in the UK as well.
Free films for PlayStation Plus Premium subscribers
PlayStation Plus members who subscribe to the highest tier, PlayStation Plus Premium, will have access to a catalogue of up to 100 films at no additional cost. Sony will regularly update the free catalogue with new films, offering a great selection for subscribers to enjoy without ads.
Exciting perks for all PlayStation Plus members
Aside from the free catalogue, Sony has also promised additional perks for all PlayStation Plus members, regardless of their tier. Although specific details have not been revealed yet, it's clear that PlayStation gamers will have even more reasons to be excited.
