Pokémon Scarlet & Violet unbans these four Pokémon – and it’s a total game changer

THE four Treasures of Ruin Pokémon have just been included in VGC, and it’s important to understand which ones to use.

While each is powerful in its own right, they all have different strengths and weaknesses.

This fish can ruin your day.

If you’re thinking of adding one of these legendaries to your team, this is what you need to know.

Here is our list of the four Treasures of Ruin from Pokémon Scarlet and Violet ranked by best to worst.

Ting-Lu

Ting-Lu is the most popular ‘mon to use in VGC at the moment, due to its amazing mix of defence and attack.

It has one of the best HP and defence stats in the game, and can also boasts pretty decent physical attack.

Its only weakness is its special defence which is mitigated by its Vessel of Ruin, which drops special attack by 25%.

While it doesn’t have the wide move pool of the other Pokémon, slapping an Assault Vest on Ting-Lu makes it unkillable.

Chien-Pao

Chien-Pao is currently the second most popular Treasure in VGC, but we particularly like its use in the main game.

It has the Sword of Ruin that drops the opponent’s defence by 25%, which is perfect as Chien-Pao is a fast physical sweeper.

It works well in raids, with a great list of coverage moves like Night Slash, Ice Spinner, and Sacred Sword, and can support others with Haze.

While its defences are a little lacking, this can be mitigated by an item like Focus Sash to give you at least a few turns to wipe your opponent out.

Chi-Yu

Chi-Yu is the anti-Chien Pao, with strong special attack, and its Beads of Ruin shredding through special defence.

It’s not how frail Chi-Yu is that makes it less usable, but how limited its move types are.

Overheat can be devastating, but also lowers your special attack, and many of its other moves are inaccurate.

Will-O-Wisp can provide excellent support against physical attackers, but your Chi-Yu might not live through the turn.

Wo-Chien

Wo-Chien’s stat spread means it’s a bit of an all-rounder, which is unfortunately a disadvantage in Pokémon.

It already has good HP and defence, which means its Tablets of Ruin and attack drop don’t provide too much benefit.

Its saving grace is that it has an amazing support set with moves like Leech Seed, Growth, Ruination, Foul Play, and Grassy Terrain.

However, as it hasn’t gone full defensive, it leaves Wo-Chien feeling a bit lacklustre.
