The Worst Campaign in Call of Duty History

After trying out the new Modern Warfare multiplayer, Call of Duty players are left feeling disappointed. The single-player campaign of Modern Warfare 3 has been widely criticized for being the worst in Call of Duty history.

Developed Under Crunch

Modern Warfare 3 was developed under crunch, with the team initially believing it would be an expansion of Modern Warfare 2. Given less time than usual for a full Call of Duty game, it's clear that corners were cut.

Uninspiring Zombies Mode

The fan-favorite Zombies mode in Call of Duty has been revamped in Modern Warfare 3, but it now feels more like Warzone's DMZ mode. The gameplay loop is similar, and while there are staple weapons, the experience lacks innovation.

Forgettable War Mode

War Mode, an objective-based 6v6 mode, fails to leave a lasting impression. The gameplay involves defending or attacking set points on the map, escorting a tank, and taking over missile controls. However, with 12 players on the field, the chaotic environment makes it difficult to enjoy.

Lack of Innovation in Multiplayer Modes

The usual multiplayer modes, like Team Deathmatch, remain the same with minimal differences. While mantling has been slightly sped up, the overall experience feels repetitive. Additionally, the game only introduces 20 new weapons, and the new maps are actually remakes of old ones.

A £70 DLC Package

Players expected more from a £70 game. Modern Warfare 3 essentially feels like the same game as Modern Warfare 2, making it hard to justify the price. Furthermore, the launch of Modern Warfare 3 marks the closing of Modern Warfare 2 servers, forcing players to purchase the new game for the same experience.

A Lack of Care for Staff and Players

Modern Warfare 3 reflects a publisher that prioritizes profit over the experience of its staff and players. This game feels like a DLC package rather than a full game, leaving players disappointed. To send a message to companies, players are encouraged to stick to Warzone.
