The highly anticipated GTA 6 trailer was released earlier than expected after it was leaked online. Despite only being 90 seconds long, the trailer provided fans with plenty of information to analyze. Here are the six exciting new features that we can expect to see in GTA 6.

GTA 6 new feature: Co-operative dual protagonists

In the trailer, we are introduced to Lucia, a female character who begins the game in jail and later embarks on heists with her partner. Although the male partner is unnamed in the trailer, leaks suggest that his name will be Jason. The trailer showcases the pair discussing their plans to work together and pull off heists. If the leaks are accurate, this will be the first mainline GTA game to feature two-person co-op.

GTA 6 new feature: TikTok and live streaming

The trailer places a heavy emphasis on social media apps, including ones that resemble TikTok with live streaming capabilities. While previous GTA games featured a version of Facebook, the inclusion of TikTok-like features is a response to the social media trend that emerged after the launch of GTA 5. It seems that Lucia will have the ability to livestream events in Vice City, which could potentially help her build a social media following and unlock contacts or generate money.

GTA 6 new feature: Wild animals

Wandering wild animals were recently introduced in GTA Online, and the trailer confirms that they will also be present in Vice City. We catch a glimpse of a crocodile walking into a convenience store, which is showcased as a live streaming moment. It is speculated that wild animals will have a larger role in the game beyond this incident.

GTA 6 new feature: More buildings to explore

In the trailer, we see Lucia and her partner bursting through doors to participate in heists, as well as glimpses of the interiors of various buildings. While previous mainline GTA games only allowed access to a limited number of buildings, it appears that the majority of buildings in GTA 6 will be enterable, with some estimates suggesting up to 70%. This means players will have a plethora of interiors to explore.

GTA 6 new feature: New vehicles and areas

The trailer showcases a wide variety of vehicles, but two in particular caught the attention of fans: hovercrafts and yachts. Additionally, we catch glimpses of bridges and distant islands. It has been confirmed that the GTA 6 map will be significantly larger than that of Los Santos, and players may have the ability to travel to new islands using these vehicles. The trailer also reveals that Lucia starts the game in jail, suggesting the addition of a new type of location in the game's prologue.

GTA 6 new feature: Release date and platforms

The trailer announces that GTA 6 will be released in 2025, with financial reporting indicating an early 2025 release. Publisher Take-Two's financial year 2025 report narrows down the release window to between January and early April. Additionally, it has been confirmed that GTA 6 will only be available on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, leaving PC gamers disappointed.
